Central Regional Prevails Over Southern Regional 16-6

Golden Eagles play their first game at home this season on new turf field.

Central Regional’s Golden Eagles capped their best season in 20 years with a home win over Southern Regional, according to Shore Sports Network.

Mike Bickford became the first sophomore in Shore Conference history to run for more than 2,000 yards in a single season. He also had an 88-yard touchdown run, Shore Sports Network said.

Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. flipped the coin at the start of the game, which followed the induction of the 2014 inductees into the Central Regional Hall of Fame. The Thanksgiving Day game was the first played on Central’s new turf field in Bayville.
