The allegations emerged from a social media post accusing a teacher of sexual misconduct with students.

BERKELEY, NJ — Central Regional High School students walked out of class Tuesday to protest a teacher accused of sexual misconduct, reports said.

Initially, messages between two adult staff members had been accessed by students, but the district was unaware of any allegations regarding students, CarneyRay-Yoder said in a letter to parents.

However, additional information was given to the district on Feb. 13, she said. All of this has been turned over to local police, the Institutional Abuse Investigation Unity and the Division of Childhood Protection and Permanency.

As the incident involves personnel issues and a potential investigation, the district is unable to share any further information.

As of Friday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said no charges have been filed in this incident.
