Central Regional Superintendent Suspends Athletic Director

Matter will be discussed at Feb. 19 Board of Education meeting.

Central Regional Schools Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides has suspended the district’s athletic director over what he called an “internal” problem that does not involve any students or other coaches.

Rumors that police escorted Vincent Casale out of the high school building Monday morning are not true, Parlapanides said.

“He was not escorted out by police,” the superintendent said. “I escorted him out. We walked out together. It was an internal personnel issue between myself and Mr. Casale,” he said.

Casale has been athletic director in the district for roughly a decade. He was suspended with pay, Parlapanides said.

Parlapanides said he could not discuss the details of the suspension until the matter is discussed by the Board of Education at the Feb. 19 meeting.

“There’s still an investigation going on,” he said. “The full board still has to hear it.”

Casale makes $134,843 a year, Board Secretary Kevin O’Shea said.
