Christmas Tree Pickup Begins In Berkeley: When To Put Trees Out

Are you getting ready to take down your live Christmas tree after the holidays? Here's how to dispose of it:

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Ready to take down your Christmas tree, now that the holiday season is coming to an end? Pickup began Tuesday in Berkeley Township, and residents can also drop their trees off at one of the county's recycling centers.

Berkeley residents may place their trees out on the curb for pickup on Jan. 8 and Jan. 15, officials said — make sure you do so by 7 a.m. on that date, and that all lights and ornaments are taken off.

  • Jakes Branch County Park, 1100 Double Trouble Road, Beachwood
  • Mill Creek County Park, 11 Chelsea Ave., Berkeley
  • Robert J. Miller Airpark, 901 Route 430, Berkeley
  • Cattus Island, 1170 Cattus Island Blvd., Toms River

Christmas trees also are accepted at the Northern and Southern Recycling Centers year-round during regular business hours (7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday). The Northern Recycling Center is located at 535 Oberlin Ave. South, Lakewood and the Southern Recycling Center is located at 379 Haywood Road., Stafford.
