Church Fire In Ocean Gate Under Investigation
Officials were able to contain the fire to the basement of Breakout Ministries, also known as Ocean Gate Church, Thursday night.

OCEAN GATE, NJ — A Thursday night church fire is currently under investigation by the Ocean Gate Fire Department.
Breakout Ministries, also known as Ocean Gate Church, located at 400 Asbury Ave, caught on fire Thursday, Ocean Gate Fire Department said. The fire was contained to the church's basement thanks to firefighters and multiple nearby agencies, the fire department said.
As of Friday morning, the scene was still an active investigation, and officials asked people to avoid the area.

The Ocean Gate Fire Department thanked Bayville Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 17, Lanoka Harbor Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 60, Forked River Volunteer Fire Department Sta 61, Ocean County Fire Coordinator K. Anderson, Ocean Gate Police Department, Ocean County Fire Marshals Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Berkeley Township EMS Squad 55, Bayville Volunteer First Aid Squad 13 and any departments providing coverage at the stations listed.
