Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 12, 2016

A hint of fall is in the air.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies today,with highs only in the mid-70s.
Beach winds will be from the east at around 10 miles per hour.

Waves will be three feet high, with southeast swells at around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 74 degrees. There's a moderate risk of rip currents, which means wind and wave conditions can support strong or more frequent rip currents.

If you can find a beach that's open, always have a flotation device with you, swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the guards.

There is no lightning threat today. The UV index is a 7, which the NWS considers high.

High tide at Belmar came in at 3:57 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 10:10, followed by another high tide at 4:22 p.m.
