Coastal Ocean Beach Weather Report For July 29, 2016
Showers and thunderstorms are possible,the lightning threat is high.

Today might be a good day to skip the beach.
The National Weather Service is calling for morning rain and scattered thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
The NWS has issued an flood watch and a flash flood advisory until around noon.

"An additional one to two inches of rain...with locally higher amounts is possible in the watch area through the morning hours," the NWS says. "Flooding potential will be very high in those locations that received heavy rain on Thursday."
Beach winds will be from the northeast at around 15 miles per hour. The surf will be around three feet, with a south swell around two fee. The surf temperature is 74 degrees.

There's a low risk of rip currents, but strong currents can still occur, especially around piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded area and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the lifeguards.
Even though the sun may stay hidden today, bring sunscreen if you are going to the beach. The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high.
The lightning threat is high, which means that thunderstorms are likely or expected.
Low tide at Barnegat Inlet will arrive at 10:28 a.m., followed by higt tide at 4:41 p.m.
