Coastal Ocean Beach Weather Report For Aug. 1, 2016

This is getting a little old.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Th surf will be around three feet, with south swells around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 76 degrees. The rip current risk is moderate, which means wind and or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents.

Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any surf zone hazards with the guards. The lightning threat is moderate, which means that thunderstorms are possible today.

Despite the cloud cover and possible storms, the lightning threat is moderate.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet was a 7:03 a.m. Low tide will roll in at 1:15 pm, followed by another high tide at 7:25 p.m.
