Nice beach day on the way.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with highs in the lower 80s.

Beach winds will be from the north this morning, swinging around to the southeast this afternoon.

The surf will be around two feet, with southeast swells of two feet. The surf temperature is a balmy 78 degrees. There is a low risk of rip currents, but strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide.

Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the guards. There is no lightning threat today.

The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet arrived at 7:06 a.m. The next high tide will be at 1:19 p.m., and another low tide at 7:35 p.m.
