Drunk Driver Bit Man That Tried To Help Him, Police Chief Says

A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges after driving onto a grass median at Lacey Liquors, then fleeing police.

A Pennsylvania man is facing drunk driving and multiple other charges after he parked his vehicle on the grass median at Lacey Liquors and bit a man in Forked River recently, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer John Simonson responded to the liquor store at 10:16 am. on May 23 on a report of an intoxicated man. Patrick Anthony Craig, 26, Coplay, became aggressive with a concerned citizen. Craig then bit the citizen on the arm, the chief said.

Craig fled the scene after Simonsen told him he was under arrest. Simonson was able to catch him and take him into custody, the chief said.

Craig was taken to police headquarters, where he was also charged with resisting arrest, simple assault, DUI, reckless driving, careless driving, and driving with an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, the chief said..

Craig was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, in default of $25,000 bail.
