Edward C. Mitzak, Former NJ State Police Officer And World War II Vet Dies At 89

Edward C. Mitzak, 89, of Bayville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Edward spent many years as an insurance adjuster before retiring from St. Paul Insurance in East Orange. Prior to that, he was a New Jersey State Police Officer.

Born in Irvington, he resided in Florham Park before moving to Bayville 45 years ago. Edward served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was predeceased by his first wife, Grace M. Mitzak. Edward is survived by his wife, Marian; son, Bruce and his wife Christine of Millstone Township; grandson, Jeffrey Mitzak and his wife Krista; great-grandsons, James and Peter Mitzak; and a daughter, Andrea Cunningham. All services are private. Arrangements by DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, Lakehurst.
