Elderly Man Dies In Berkeley Car Crash: Police

Berkeley police are withholding the victim's name until family notification.

BERKELEY, NJ — An elderly man died in a fiery car crash at about 1 a.m. Thursday in Berkeley, police said. Berkeley police are withholding the victim's name until family notification.

The one-vehicle crash took place on Dover Road, about a half mile south of Pinewald-Keswick Road. The victim drove north on Dover Road in a 2019 Ford F-150 when the vehicle veered off the shoulder and into the woods, striking trees, police said.

The Ford F-150 overturned and caught fire. The victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company also assisted.
