Election Day 2023 In Berkeley: When, Where To Vote

BERKELEY, NJ — Election Day is Nov. 7, and Berkeley residents head to the polls to elect local and federal representatives, including a new mayor.

Voters are able to vote by mail, early in-person and in-person on Election Day.

What And Who Are On The Ballot

• State Senate - 9th Legislative District: Republican Berkeley Mayor Carmen Amato and Democrat Gabriel Franco are seeking the open seat.
• General Assembly - 9th Legislative District: Republican incumbent Brian E. Rumpf and Stafford Mayor Gregory Myrhe are running on a ticket with Amato. Democrats Joseph Atura and Sarah "Sally" Collins are running with Franco. Also running is Barry Bendar under the Green Party.
• Ocean County Surrogate: Vote one for a five-year term. Republican incumbent Jeffrey W. Moran is challenged by Democrat Charles D. Bauer.
• Board of Commissioners: Vote one for a three-year term. Republican Frank Sadeghi and Democrat Roxanne L. Barnes are vying for one open seat.
• Mayor: Vote one for a four-year term. Republican and current Council President John Bacchione and Democrat Kia Phua are seeking the open seat.
• Township Council: Three seats are open for four-year terms. Republican incumbents L. Thomas Grosse and Keith Buscio are joined by Berkeley Township Board of Education member Douglas Buscio. Democrats running are Mary K. Curtis, Thomas J. White, Jr. and Frank D. DeMaio, IV.
• Berkeley Township Board of Education: Three seats are open for three-year terms. Incumbents Jennifer Bacchione, Thomas Guarascio and Dave Ytreboe are running unopposed under the "Students, Family, Community" slogan.
