Stop by, have a seat and watch as the Oceanaires Barbershop Chorus prepares for competition in the Northern Division, representing Ocean County. You will be surprised and entertained by seeing and hearing our director, Neil “Pookie” Dingle in action. We seek to sing well enough to qualify for the next level of competition at the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Each chorus picks 2 songs for judging. The performance is evaluated by a total of six judges. The categories are: Music, Presentation and Singing. It’s a technical evaluation aimed at our goal of performance excellence.

The open rehearsal will include: Warm Up, ‘Dry Run’, coaching, break (perhaps a quartet or two will sing a song for you), ‘Dry Run#2’ and the singing of God Bless America.
