Expensive Boiler, Copper Piping Stolen From Berkeley Home: Police

They were valued at $6K. Here are the burglary reports from the latest Berkeley police blotter.

BERKELEY, N.J. — A high-efficiency boiler and 50 feet of copper piping, valued at $6,000, were stolen from a Berkeley home March 5, police announced Monday. The robbery took place in an unoccupied home on the 400 block of SE Woodhaven Boulevard, according to Berkeley police.

Officers conducted a search for witnesses, suspects and evidence, but the search yielded negative results, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

Burglary Attempt – On March 3rd. 2019 the Berkeley Township Police responded to the 100 block of Harley Boulevard to investigate an attempted Burglary. Upon arrival, Officers advised Police Dispatch that the front door of a residence had been forced open damaging both the door and the door frame. After the residence was cleared, the home owner conducted an inventory of his property and reported that nothing was disturbed or missing. It is believed that as the actor(s) attempted to gain entry into the home, the family pet became aggressive and scared them off. A canvass of the area was conducted for suspects, witnesses, and further evidence which yielded negative results. Motor Vehicle Burglary – On March 6th, 2019 the Berkeley Township Police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Fort De France Avenue to investigate a reported Motor Vehicle Burglary. During this incident, unknown actor(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of loose change. Officers on scene conducted a canvass of the area for witnesses, suspect, and further evidence which yielded negative results. We would like to remind Township residents to double check their vehicles and make sure they are locked prior to going to bed at night. This simple action may help prevent you from becoming a victim!
