Family-Owned Sub Shop Opens On Berkeley's Route 9

BERKELEY, NJ — There's a new sub shop in Berkeley. Spano's Sub Shop opened Monday at 242 Atlantic City Blvd.

Owner Dominick Spano always wanted his own sub shop. Now he runs the eatery with his family.

"He found the building, and we did it in such a short period of time," said Rita Egan, his daughter. "It was just like, bang bang, and we were open. But so far so good."

The menu includes hot and cold subs, cheesesteaks, homemade soups and breakfast sandwiches. Spano's is available for delivery on GrubHub. Check out some of the menu items in the photos above.

Their Facebook page lists the following hours:

• Monday to Friday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Spano's will hold a grand opening Saturday. The restaurant will give away samples, free chips and coupons for buy one sub, get one half off.
