Final Approvals Sought For Proposed 20-Unit Berkeley Townhouse Development

BERKELEY, NJ — A proposed 20-unit townhouse development is seeking to have its final site plan approved in September.

Stonehill at Berkeley, LLC, will go before the Berkeley Township Zoning Board of Adjustment on Sept. 9, according to public notice.

The 20 two-story townhouses will be in five buildings on Sloop Creek Road. Each townhouse will have two bedrooms; condominium association by-laws will prevent an office/study area from being rented out and turned into a third bedroom, according to public notice.

The development will be served by a new private road connecting Sloop Creek Road to South Avenue.

The about 4.22 acre property was previously approved for an 11-lot single family subdivision. Multifamily housing is not an approved zoning use in that area, so the proposal previously had to go before the Zoning Board of Adjustment for a use variance.

Stonehill at Berkeley will be heard before the Zoning Board at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the Township Municipal Building (627 Pinewald Keswick Road).
