Food And Toy Drives At A Berkeley School This Saturday

BERKELEY, NJ — A Berkeley organization will hold food and toy drives from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at H&M Potter Elementary School (60 Veeder Ln.). The Berkeley Shore Homeowners' Civic Association is running the event.

Local food pantries are struggling to keep up with demand, the BSHCA says. The drive will help needy families in the Berkeley area for the Thanksgiving season.

Food items needed include:

  • canned vegetables
  • stuffing
  • pasta sauce
  • cereal
  • tuna/stew/ravioli
  • canned gravy
  • rice/pasta/dried beans
  • oatmeal
  • powdered/flaked potatoes
  • peanut butter/jelly
  • cans of soup
  • cans of fruit/applesauce

The BSHCA says not to provide glass items.

The organization is also accepting toys for the annual Bayville PBA #237 Toy Drive. Police representatives will accept donations at the event.
