Forked River Woman Charged With Drunk Driving And Heroin Possession After GSP Crash
The two-car, wrong-way crash tied up traffic on a busy Sunday afternoon by Exit 80, state police said.

State Police officers have charged a Lacey Township woman with drunk driving and heroin possession after she drove the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway Sunday and struck another car head-on.
Troopers responded to milepost 80.8 in the southbound land at 2:47 pm. on a report of a two-car crash. Detectives discovered that Brenna Haase, 37, was traveling in the northbound lane in a Hyundai Accent when she lost control her car, traveled over the center median and hit a Nissan Maxim head-on, according to the State Police Facebook page.

The Nissan was driven by John Delaney 52, Toms River. A male juvenile was also in the car.
Troopers discovered that Haase, in addition to driving while intoxicated, had heroin and drug paraphernalia in the car. Haase was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with minor injuries. Delaney and the juvenile were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River with minor injuries, police said.

Haase was charged with assault, DWI, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending. Bail information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
The New Jersey State Police Fatal Accident Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, Galloway Station, and detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office responded.
