As high-school seniors determine their college plans, college financial aid officers say they shouldn't forget that in order to become eligible for federal aid such as grants, loans and scholarships, they must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
Every college requires that a student fill out these forms in order to be eligible for financial aid, and every college advisor will tell you, the sooner they are submitted, the better your options are for financial aid. January is the prime time to send in your child's FAFSA form!
