Harold W. Groshon Of Bayville Dies At 87
A Memorial Service will be held on Sept. 24 in Forked River.

Harold W. Groshon, 87, of Bayville died on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 at his home.
Affectionately known as"'Chub" and "Pop-pop," he was born on November 4, 1928 in Teaneck, NJ. As a young man Harold was an All-State Basketball player at Fort Lee High School, leading his team to win the 1946 State Championship.

Harold proudly served his country in the US Navy, owned and operated Continental Alarm Co. in Bergenfield. He served as past president and was named man of the year for the Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce. Harold was extremely proud to be the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 139 in Bergenfield.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and looked forward to his trips to Maine every fall. He found purpose in doing small deeds for others that brought much joy to their lives. He will truly be missed.

Harold is predeceased by his wife Irene Groshon and daughter Sharon O'Leary. Harold was proud of his family; Daniel Groshon and wife Janet of Maine, Kathye Conti and husband John of Colorado, Harold D. Groshon of California, Karen Walters and husband Andy of Colorado and Sheryl Kolacki and husband Rob of Georgia; Pop-pop has fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 24, 2016 at Forked River United Methodist Church 203 Lacey Road, Lacey, NJ. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forked River United Methodist Church.
