Trader Joe's features a webpage where you can request an opening in your town. Simply include your basic information and tell them why Berkeley would be a great place for the next Trader Joe's.
Whole Foods

Whole Foods is developing five new New Jersey locations. Unfortunately, they're all a trek from Berkeley. But that webpage leads you to an option to suggest a store, which will bring you to their customer-service page. Click "Contact us" at the bottom and tell them why they should bring business to Berkeley.
Wegmans
Unfortunately, Wegmans does not present a clear way to request they open in your town. On their Future Store Locations page, they write, "Since we open just two or three new stores each year, it would be impossible to oblige every request."
But there's no harm in telling their Contact Us page why Berkeley would be perfect for Wegmans. If enough residents let them know, maybe they'll get the gist.
