local police hirings

When i see these already over weight non-athletic newly hired police officers it makes me ask how?. I posed this question to someone respected in the Berkley twp. Community and was told the newbie scored high on the written test. Since when did superior intelligence become the only criteria to become a cop? Many intellectuals have been defeated on the battlefield in history because of a lack of physicality and heart. Start with the Romans and look at today's "so intelligent" President of the United States. Sissy boys rule the day in America. Ray Kelly was and still is considered an idiot by the leftists in NY, but his "stop and frisk" program lowered crime dramatically. NYC police officers have guts and confidence to confront the serious day to day criminals Berkeley Twp. Officers can't even imagine. Yet they (Berkeley PD) start and end on a higher pay scale. I'm sure all small overtaxed municipalities are the same. Veterans need jobs. How about you learn a little self discipline in our Armed Forces before you are even considered for one of the most prestigious and lucrative jobs in local towns. It would surely put a crimp in the nepotism and friendly hook-ups these municipalities shove in our faces on a daily basis.
