Long Branch Police Seize Over 4,000 Bags Of Heroin, Assorted Drugs And Firearms From West End Avenue Home
Two city men arrested after months-long investigation into illegal distribution of narcotics, $8,000 in cash seized.

Two Long Branch men are facing multiple drug charges after investigators seized more than 4,000 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, power cocaine, marijuana, drug distribution paraphernalia, $8,000 in cash and weapons, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher G. Gramiccioni said.
Robert Strohlin, 46, 177 West End Avenue and Syr Berry, 47, same address, were arrested on Thursday. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Gang Bureau and the Long Branch Police Street Crimes Unit also seized a .22 caliber hangun, a 9 mm replica handgun and several knives, Gramiccioni said.

Strohlin and Berry were both charged with second degree counts of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have weapons; third degree counts of possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of heroin with intent to distribute with 1,000 feet of a school (Long Branch High School), possession of cocaine with intent to distribute with 1,000 feet of a school; and possession of drug paraphernalia, Gramiccioni said.
Strohlin is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $401,000 cash bail. Berry is being held on $551,000 cash bail, he said.

If convicted of the second degree offenses, the men each face a sentence of five to ten years in prison on each of the counts. If convicted of third degree charges, the men each face up three to five years in prison on each of the charges.
