Man Stabbed, Injured Trying To Break Up Fight In Berkeley: Police
The man tried to break up a fight in which his child was assaulted, according to police.
BERKELEY, NJ — A man sustained non-life threatening injuries after trying to break up a fight and getting stabbed Thursday night, police said. The man tried to break things up as others assaulted his child, according to authorities.
The incident took place around Wheaton Avenue and Central Boulevard near the Rail Trail. Police were alerted to a fight involving five males.
Authorities found a man injured from multiple stab wounds. Officials treated him on scene and took him to Community Medical Center.

Several boys had been fighting and fled the scene before police arrived. Multiple parties involved in the investigation live close to the Rail Trail, police said.
Charges are pending. It was not immediately clear how many people police had located. That remains under investigation, Det. Lt. Peter La Rocca told Patch.
