Mark Schmeling Of Bayville Dies At 62
Memorial dinner will be held on Thursday at Zinnia's Bistro in Cranbury.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Mark Schmeling died peacefully in his home in on June 13, 2015 in Bayville, NJ at the age of 62 surrounded by his family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife, Patti; Daughters, Samantha Tierney and her husband James & Nicole Barone; brother, Max Schmeling, grandchildren, Cole, Shane, Emma & JJ as wellas numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Schmeling and brother John Schmeling.
Mark was born on September 2, 1952 in Bound Brook, NJ Mark joined the Steamfitters Local Union 475 when he was 18 and enjoyed a 44-year career as a pipefitter/welder until he retired in 2014.
Mark married Patti, the love of his life in 1983. Together they raised twodaughters. Not only did Mark teach them everything from making strawberry pancakes to replacing the starter in their cars, he was actively involved with all of their extracurricular activities and those of their friends. His children remember him as a dedicated father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and know the true meaning of family.
Mark was accomplished as a craftsman and was often found building and fabricating unique items for those he cared for. He was a generous individual who loved family and who was passionate about his grandchildren. His favorite activity was fishing with his grandsons.
A memorial dinner is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Zinna’s Bistro at 1275 South River Road, Cranbury, NJ 08521. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mark’s life.
