Memorial Service Set For Late Berkeley Sergeant
Anyone looking to pay their respects to the late Sgt. William Cullen can do so at the Bayville Elks Lodge this weekend.

BERKELEY, NJ — A memorial service is set to honor a sergeant from the Berkeley Township Police Department who passed away recently.
Sgt. William Cullen, a 22-year member of the department, died recently. His memorial service is being held at the Bayville Elks Lodge (247 Route 9) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Anyone who wants to pay their respects is invited to come, the Berkeley Township PBA said.

After a short break, a Celebration of Live service is set for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for family, friends and coworkers to share stories about Cullen. Food will be served.
In lieu of flowers, his family is asking for donations to be made in Cullen's honor to Purpose and Hope, a local non-profit honoring Christian Schenk, an Ocean County Sheriff's officer who took his own life in 2020.

All checks, Venmo @PBA237, and monetary donations can be sent to Berkeley Twp. PBA Local #237 where the funds will be distributed to the non-profit.
"Sgt. Cullen was a mentor to many and friend to all who knew him. We are devastated by the loss of this great officer," Berkeley police said in a statement announcing his death.
Law enforcement agencies both locally and statewide have shared their condolences.
