More Than 7K Lose Power In Berkeley Amid Storm

Nearly a third of Berkeley lost power Wednesday afternoon, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

Update: Estimated restoration is no longer available as of 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. JCP&L previously estimated restoration by 4 p.m.

BERKELEY, NJ — There are 7,481 without power in Berkeley as of 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. That leaves 29.7 percent of town without power, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

JCP&L expects power to return at 4 p.m. They have counted 48,422 outages in Ocean County.

Thunderstorms and severe winds have moved through New Jersey on Wednesday. The forecast anticipated winds of up to 80 mph in the Garden State.
