Motorcyclist Killed In Berkeley Crash: Police

Daniel Wisnewski, 26, was killed on Aug. 30 when a driver pulling out of a parking lot collided with his motorcycle, Berkeley police said.

BERKELEY, NJ — A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed when a car crashed into him on Pinewald-Keswick Road in Berkeley, police said.

Daniel Wisnewski, of Beachwood, was heading east on Rt. 530 on Aug. 30 shortly after 5 p.m., Berkeley police said.

Joseph Rider, 73, of Whiting, pulled out of a parking lot to head west, police said. As he did, his 2020 Hyundai Tucson struck Wisnewski, police said.

The impact of the crash caused Wisnewski and his motorcycle to leave the roadway and head into the woods, police said.

Officers began performing life-saving measures with Berkeley EMS and Robert Wood Johnson medics, police said. Several rounds of CPR were performed, but Wisnewski was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Rider was issued summonses for careless driving and improper turn, police said.

Wisnewski was a father to a nine-month-old baby girl, and a GoFundMe has been established to help support her.

The accident is currently being investigated by Patrolman Michael Bulwinski of the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Bureau.
