Much-Loved Missing Cat In Beachwood Home Safe
Smokey was caught in a humane trap, in rough shape.

Theresa Caruso can relax a little tonight. Her six-year-old cat Smokey, who slipped out of Caruso’s Surf Avenue home in Beachwood more than two weeks ago, is back home.
Smokey - an indoor cat - was finally caught in a humane trap. But Caruso had to rush him to the vets since he had lost weight and didn’t seem to be in good shape.
Smokey had been near Caruso’s home the whole time he was missing. But he , wouldn’t go to her and continued to run, which is not uncommon in cats who have never been outdoors and are scared.

One of Caruso’s neighbors was keeping an eye on him, Caruso’s sister said.

So far, Smokey‘s bloodwork results are good. Caruso will have to have him tested every week for some time. But he‘s home.
Caruso spent many nights walking in the dark looking for Smokey.
“I am doing everything I can to find this cat,” Caruso said. “I don’t want to lose him.”
