Nancy Elizabeth Grove Of Bayville Dies At 73

Memorial service for longtime Berkeley Township school district teacher slated for Tuesday.

Nancy Elizabeth Grove (Kohl), 73, of Bayville, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born June 26, 1941 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Daniel Carl Kohl and Dorothy Harff Kohl. She resided in Union until moving to Pine Beach in 1965. She received her BS from Kean University.

She enjoyed a 30-year teaching career in the Berkeley Township School District until her retirement in 1994. Nancy was a congregant of the Forked River Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and participated in numerous mission groups. She worked tirelessly collecting clothing donations for Your Grandmother’s Cupboard, an organization close to her heart.

During her free time, she enjoyed reading, writing, nature walks, baking, gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved summers on Ortley Beach and camping in Bar Harbor, Maine.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles Alan Grove. She is survived by her sister Janis and wife Yolanda; her brother Daniel and wife Sharon; son Eric Grove and girlfriend Rachael Baum; her daughter Karalyn Fallat and husband Paul; her beloved grandchildren Colin and Emerson Fallat; and her dog and faithful sidekick Guinnie. All of these people were great sources of pride, happiness and love.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Forked River Presbyterian Church, 131 N. Main St., Forked River, NJ, 08731. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice, Your Grandmother’s Cupboard or the Berkeley Township Educational and Environmental Program Foundation, a group which raises funds for the annual Stokes State Forest trip, a tradition for which Nancy was very passionate.
