National Burger Day: Where's Berkeley's Best Burger?

Patch put a call out for the best burgers in town. Here's what you had to say:

BERKELEY, NJ — Did you know May 28 is National Burger Day? Especially in summer, there's nothing better than a delicious burger. But where's the best one to get in Berkeley? Patch put a call out on Facebook, and readers answered.

The most overwhelming response was somewhere that's not actually in town - the popular choice was Sandcastle Diner in Beachwood! Well, close enough, right?

Try their Jersey Burger - a cheeseburger topped with pork roll and egg. Yum!

While that was by far the most popular answer, there were a few that, yes, actually did reside in Bayville.

One commenter recommended Pies Place on Atlantic City Boulevard. He suggested their Bayville Burger - a classic topped with bacon, American cheese, raw onion, pickles and ketchup.

Another commenter suggested Shady Rest, while yet another said she loved MJ's, and their fries as well.

Yesterday's also made it in the mix. Their signature burger has sautéed mushrooms, onions and mozzarella cheese.
