Ocean County Mother's Day Guide: 5 Last-Minute Events For Families This Weekend

From winery tours to boardwalk rides, Ocean County has several Mother's Day weekend events for families.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Ocean County families still have several last-minute options to celebrate Mother’s Day, with events planned this weekend in Plumsted, Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant Beach, Toms River and Berkeley Township.

The lineup includes a winery event, a spring festival at Island Beach State Park, boardwalk and amusement offers for moms, and a pop-up shopping event in downtown Toms River. The events are scheduled for Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, according to the event listings.

Laurita Winery and Marketplace in Plumsted is hosting “Mother’s Day in the Grove” on May 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 10, from 11:30 a.m. The listing says the event will include live music, vineyard tours, a strolling magician, several food trucks and outdoor activities. Admission is listed at $16 per person, and children 12 and under are free.

At Island Beach State Park Swimming Area 1, the May Day Spring Festival is set for Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The listing says the event will feature craft vendors, a plant sale, live music and food trucks. An $8 suggested donation is listed, and dogs on a leash are welcome.

Casino Pier in Seaside Heights is offering free rides for moms on Sunday, May 10, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a paid child. According to the event information, the offer excludes Go-Karts, Skyscraper, Sky Ride and SkyCoaster. The listing says families can visit the boardwalk for rides and attractions during the Mother’s Day promotion.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk also has a Mother’s Day offer for Sunday, May 10. According to the listing, moms receive free admission with a paying child for the aquarium, fun house, mini golf, rides and Adventure Lookout during open hours, weather permitting.

In Toms River, Gifted on Washington, 16 Washington St., is holding a Mother’s Day-inspired pop-up on Saturday, May 9, from noon to 3 p.m. The event listing says shoppers can visit a build-your-own bouquet bar, on-site personalization for items including jewelry, cutting boards and keychains, and complimentary gift wrapping. The listing also says customers can get a complimentary iced coffee with any purchase.
