Paul F. Amon Of Bayville Dies At 63 In Tugboat Accident

A memorial Mass is slated for Wednesday at St. Pius R. C. Church in Forked River.

Paul F. Amon, 63, of Bayville, died from injuries sustained in a tragic tugboat accident on Saturday, March 12, 2016.

Born in Philadelphia, Paul moved to Bayville to raise his family by the seashore. For many years, his family had been summer residents in Ocean Gate. He served as a tugboat mate and often times as captain.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Anna, and by his siblings, Edward, Joseph and Annette Weiler. Surviving are, his wife of 42 years, Donna; two daughters, Jean Amon and Ericka Amon; six siblings, Andrew, John, Frank, Michael, Rosemarie Doh and Margarite Amon. Also surviving are many extended family members and loving friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at St.Pius X Church, 300 Lacey Road, Forked River, 08731. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory to: Thomas Jefferson Medical Center/Neurology Department, 111 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, 19107, (Jefferson.edu/neurology), would be appreciated. Mastapeter Funeral Home, Bayville is in charge of arrangements.
