BEACHWOOD, N.J. — A home was destroyed in a fire Tuesday morning on the 1100 block of Spar in Beachwood, officials said. No one was injured and one pet was rescued, but one of the pets remains unaccounted for, the Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department said.

The home belongs to a member of the BFD Auxiliary, officials said. The auxiliary member wasn't at home at the time. Heavy flames spread from the south side of the home to the attic and roof.

Officials brought the fire under control in about 40 minutes. The fire also damaged a vehicle in the driveway and began to spread to a neighboring home.
