Pine Beach Crash Sends 2 Cars Into Phone Pole; 6 Hurt: Police
None of the injuries are life-threatening, police said.

PINE BEACH, NJ — A crash sent two cars into a telephone pole as one flipped on its side Wednesday evening in Pine Beach, police said. Six people were injured, but none were life-threatening, according to Pine Beach Police Chief Matthew Petrecca.
The accident took place at Station Avenue and Prospect Avenue. A driver on Station Avenue (Vehicle 1) failed to stop at the stop sign, Petrecca said. They hit a vehicle with five people that was driving down Prospect Avenue (Vehicle 2), police said.
Both vehicles hit a nearby telephone pole. Vehicle 2 flipped onto its side, but all injuries were minor, Petrecca said. The driver of Vehicle 1 went to the hospital was taken to the hospital, police said.

The driver of Vehicle 1, who wasn't publicly identified, was issued five summonses, Petrecca said.
Petrecca said he is implementing more proactive enforcement along Prospect Avenue.

Officers Brian Fischer and Stephen Scatturo responded to the scene. Petrecca thanked Pine Beach Fire Department, Beachwood First Aid and Ocean Gate PD for assisting. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office and Prosecutor's Office were also notified.
