Pro Wrestling With Ron Simmons Comes To Berkeley

BERKELEY, NJ — Pro wrestling is returning to Berkeley. SWF Live Pro Wrestling Entertainment will hold an event at 7 p.m. Saturday the the Berkeley Little League Indoor Center (43 Moorage Ave).

The slate includes WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons and former WWE — then called the WWF — wrestler Butch Reed.

Simmons — also a former Cleveland Brown — became the WCW World Heavyweight Champion in 1992 after defeating Big Van Vader. WWE recognizes Simmons as the first black world champion in pro wrestling history.

Reed, also known as "Hacksaw" and "The Natural," competed in the WWF from 1986-92. He also played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
