Rep. Andy Kim To Hold Town Hall In Ocean Gate
Congressman Andy Kim's town hall will focus on the 'dangers' of big money in politics.

OCEAN GATE, NJ — Congressman Andy Kim will host a town-hall meeting for the public Wednesday. The meeting will focus on the "dangers" of big money in politics, Kim said.
The event takes place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ocean Gate Town Hall (30 East Cape May Ave.).
The town hall occurs close to the 10-year anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in the case Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.

The case "allowed dark money to dominate our politics and have more influence on the direction of our country than everyday Americans," Kim said in the meeting announcement.
The Court ruled in favor of Citizens United, determining that the First Amendment prohibits the government from restricting independent political expenditures by corporations and labor unions.

Proponents hailed the Supreme Court decision as a victory for free speech, while critics have said the decision opened the floodgates for unprecedented financial influence in U.S. elections.
Kim will hold the town hall with Tiffany Muller, president of the End Citizens United Action Fund.
The congressman is continuing his series of monthly meetings throughout Ocean and Burlington counties. Click here to register.
