Robert Morrissey Barden III, Central Regional Child Study Team Member, Dies At 68
Services for founding member of Berkeley Township Underwater Search and Rescue Team will be held on Jan. 16

Robert “Bob” Morrissey Barden III, 68, Berkeley Township passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Community Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was a family man whose zeal for life was infectious to all those around him. He obtained his master’s degree in education while teaching special education and serving on the Child Study Team in the Central Regional school district before he retired.

Bob was a very active member of the community and was a founding member of both the Berkeley Township Underwater Search and Rescue and The Vintage Auto Club of Toms River. He was member of Harmony Lodge #18 F&AM, Toms River and Sextant Lodge #286 F&AM, Beach Haven, NJ.
Bob was an avid Civil War re-enactor; serving in both the NJ 3rd and the NY 61st Regiments. He excelled at fencing and participated in an invitation-only meet in Paris, France. In his younger years, Bob also enjoyed racing vintage Hydroplane Boat “El Condor”.
Surviving is his beloved wife Priscilla Barden of 38 years; his children: David, Dawn and her husband Doug Holton, Robert M. (Bobby) IV and his wife Kelly, Thomas and his wife Jeannie, Victoria, Destiny, Joseph, Samantha, and Lisa. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren: Kyle, Cory, Gabbie, Kenzie, Robert M. 5th, Maddy, Josh and Christina; and his three sisters: Loys Allabaugh and her husband Scott, Kim Airs, and Mimi Corbett and her husband Ed.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Harmony Masonic Lodge, 110 Route 37 in Toms River.
