Ronald 'Rocky' Ricciardi, Korean War Veteran, Dies At 78

Services for Bayville resident slated for Thursday and Friday.

Ronald “Rocky” Ricciardi, age 78, of Bayville passed away Tuesday April 14, 2015.

Born in Newark, he lived in Roselle Park before moving to Bayville in 2003. He worked in the maintenance department for Vailsburg Park System in Newark and was the Sexton for the First Methodist Church in Toms River. Rocky served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW post 9503 in Bayville and the American Legion in Trenton.

He is predeceased by his father MSGT Michael Ricciardi and his mother Rose Ricciardi, former wife Nancy Ricciardi, daughter Debbie Harris, brother Mickey, and his sister Marlene Ricciardi. Surviving are his daughters Nancy Mezzina and her husband Nick, Susan Greene, and Isabelle Mitrosky and her husband Rick. Also surviving are his brothers Rocco Ricciardi, Billy Ricciardi, sister Rosalie Griffiths, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. A religious service is planned for 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 412 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, and David’s Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation. Condolences can be sent to www.carmonabolenfh.com
