Small Wildfire Burning On Parkway In Bayville: Officials
Several lanes are closed Tuesday afternoon as firefighters work to extinguish the fire burning in the Parkway's median.
BERKELEY, NJ — A small wildfire is causing delays on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday afternoon in Bayville, according to officials.
The fire is only about one acre in size and burning in the area of mile marker 77 as of around 3 p.m. on June 18, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. Officials say that the fire is not expected to grow in size.
As of Tuesday afternoon, two southbound lanes and one northbound lane on the Parkway are closed as firefighters work to contain and extinguish the blaze.

"The public is advised that smoke may be visible for an extended period while firefighters work to mop-up the wildfire. Motorists traveling in the area should remain cautious of smoke," the Forest Fire Service said. "Additionally, we ask that motorists watch for firefighters and fire vehicles that may be working on the roadsides."
No further updates are expected from officials.
