Summer Competitive Swim Team Returns To Berkeley

Berkeley Recreation has announced the return of its popular summer competitive swim team. Registration is now open.

BERKELEY, NJ — If your kid loves swimming, you're in luck. Berkeley Recreation has announced the return of its popular summer competitive swim team.

Registration is now open for the season which runs June 20 through August 2. Teams will meet Monday and Wednesday at the Ocean County YMCA from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., depending on the age of the child.

  • 6 and under
  • 7/8
  • 9/10
  • 11/12
  • 13/14
  • 15/18

To be eligible, children must be five years of age by July 1 and eligibility continues through the summer after high school graduation. Children must a resident of Berkeley Township or a resident of a town within Central Regional School District's sending districts. Report cards and a copy of the child's birth certificate must be presented at the time of the first practice on June 20.

Children must be able to swim at least one to two laps (25 yards each) unassisted, as well as having the coach's approval.
