Suspect Tries Car Burglary With Person Still Inside: Beachwood PD
Police are searching for the suspect, who fled after opening the door, authorities said.
BEACHWOOD, NJ — A suspect tried burglarizing a car with a person still inside the vehicle early Monday morning in Beachwood, police said. The male opened the door and got startled before fleeing, according to authorities.
The incident took place at about 12:15 a.m. Monday on the 1200 block of Pacific Avenue. The victim returned home and decided to sit in her car for a few minutes when a male approach the passenger-side door, police said.
The suspect opened the doors, and the occupant startled him, police said. Authorities couldn't find him in the immediate area.

Beachwood police asked the public for assistance. They asked anyone in the area with security cameras to view their footage.
The suspect is a white male with dark eyes and short, dark hair, police said. He wore a gray hoodie. Anyone with information can contact. Det. David Bowden at 732-286-6000 ext. 108.
