These Are Berkeley's Most Romantic Restaurants, Readers Say

Patch asked what you thought was Berkeley's most romantic restaurant. Here's what you had to say:

BERKELEY, NJ — It's that time of year, and love is in the air. And what better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than enjoying it at a local restaurant?

Patch reached out to readers on Facebook to find what the most romantic restaurant in town is, and got more than 100 responses.

And while some of those responses may have been jokes about there being no romantic restaurants in Berkeley (you can read all of them here if you're interested in seeing some of the funny comments, including a hot dog cart apparently?), plenty of readers had some to share.

Many of the responses recommended Senza Cucina, which was also named one of the state's best Italian restaurants by NJ.com.

Others suggested Anchor Inn or Rosie's, both in Ocean Gate, but also very popular spots.

"I haven't been able to find a romantic, quaint, relaxing restaurant in Bayville," shared Mike Kirsch, but agreed that Anchor Inn was a great choice.

People also like longtime Bayville staple Shady Rest, particularly outside when the flowers are blooming, Patch reader Cozzette Sheridan commented.

Waterfront restaurants are always a hit, especially at sunset. MJ's has a pretty and romantic view, according to Donna Saad Matusik.

And if you're on the island, Chef Mike's ABG and Berkeley Cut Steakhouse are great choices too.

But another common comment pointed out something else that's true. And Leslie Reese put it best - "It's not the place, it's who you're with."
