Following several reports of unlocked vehicles break-ins, Berkeley police reported at least three thefts involving smashed car windows. Police said they suspect the Felony Lane Gang — a crew that breaks windows to steal from vehicles around the country — were responsible for two break-ins.

Two vehicles had their windows shattered Jan. 12 at the Whispering Park Pines parking lot on Selkirk Avenue, police said. The unknown actor(s) stole credit cards, smartphones, IDs, checkbooks and $230 in cash from the vehicles, according to police. Police believe gang members may have committed these incidents.

Two people also punched through a car window and stole about $150 worth of belongings Friday night around Woodland Road, police said. The resident's surveillance video shows two people approaching the vehicle before leaning into the car and running back down the driveway.
