Thomas P. Smith Of Bayville Dies At 76
Visitation today, funeral Mass at St. Barnabas on Wednesday.

Thomas P. Smith, 76, of Bayville, died peacefully at home on July 30, 2016, with his loving family at his bedside.
Born in County Meath, Ireland, he emigrated to America in 1959, settling in Newark, NJ. He then lived in West Orange before moving to Bayville in 1970. Mr. Smith was employed as a bar manager for several clubs and restaurants, including the Toms River Country Club, and most recently the Spring Lake Country Club. Additionally, he was a partner in a local business for 11 years.

He was a communicant of St. Barnabas R.C. Church in Bayville and served many years as a church usher. Tom was also a passionate golfer and could always be seen with his grandchildren, supporting them at their sporting events.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Maryann Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ann; three children, Michael and his husband Don, Noreen White and her husband Bill and Erin Rhoades and her husband Mike; eight siblings, Bridget, Julia, Polly, Peter, Peggy, Mickie, Patsy and Eugene; six grandchildren, Christopher, Brendan and his wife Bree Ann, Brianna, Colin, Emma and Kealie; and one great-granddaughter Olivia.

Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Boulevard in Bayville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, before celebrating an 11 a.m.Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville. Burial will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory to: St. Barnabas Church Food Bank, or to, Oceans Harbor House for helping teen children (oceansharborhouse.org), would be appreciated.
