Timothy VanderPyl is a 9 yr old Toms River Resident that was born 2 1/2 months premature weighting only 2 lbs, 12.1 oz. After spending 7 weeks in the NICU of Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and many visits to CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia), he was diagnosed with brain damage (due to lack of oxygen at birth) and Cerebral Palsy.

Timmy’s CP effects every part of his body, from his hands to his mouth to his organs. He is non-verbal and unable to walk on his own. His world is full of medications, doctors and physical therapy. His lungs are underdeveloped and his immune system is week. As he grows, he will face many more surgeries to lengthen his muscles and reduce tightness in his legs.

Despite all of the above, Timmy can brighten a room. His smile and laughter bring joy to his parents and friends. He is affectionate and loves giving hugs and kisses.

Unfortunately, as Timmy grows he is getting frustrated. He wants to be able to do things independently, but is held back by the limitations of his world.

WE CAN HELP TIMMY GAIN INDEPENDENCE! Our Auction on Nov. 21 will raise money to purchase a power chair for Timmy. This will allow him the ability to get around on his own. (Insurance will not cover the cost of the chair.)

Playball for Miracles is hoping to raise 10K through our Gift Auction. But help is needed from local businesses and residents.

Please contact Erin McGuinness at pbfmtimshope@hotmail.com or 908-347-7421 if you are interested in donating an item or becoming a sponsor.

If you are interested in attending our Tricky Tray, tickets can be purchased online at www.pbfmtimshope.eventbrite.com or by mail (contact us at the email address). Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 if purchased at the door.
