Too Many Trucks, Too Much Noise, Briar Road Residents Say
Residents asked Planning Board to reject company's plan to expand.

Briar Road resident Donna Mazzonna would like to be able to keep her windows open on warm days.
But she told Planning Board residents recently she can’t, because of the noise generated by the nearby trucking company G & D Materials on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, according to app.com.
“I wish to God I could move,” she said.

A number of Briar Road residents came to a recent board meeting to protest G & D Materials’ application to build an 18-foot by 40-foot garage to repair dump trucks and other large vehicles. The property is located next to the Happy Days Preschool.
Residents say the company has ignored municipal codes for months.

G & D Materials Principal Gino Garuso told the board after-hours activity occurs because of construction projects on the Garden State Parkway and snow plowing in the winter months.
The original approvals were granted 20 years ago and limited activity to Monday through Saturday, with only 10 trucks on the site.
