OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Veterans Day is Nov. 11, encouraging all Americans to take a day to remember and honor those who fought for our country.

Data shows that Ocean County has some of the highest veteran populations in the state, so it only makes sense that there would be plenty of ceremonies set to honor those who served.

You won't want to miss the Ocean County Veterans Day Parade in downtown Toms River, which kicks off at 9:45 a.m. at the Toms River Shopping Center on Route 37, proceeding south on Main Street (Route 166) and then east onto Washington Street. The parade will feature numerous military vehicles, elected officials, civic groups, first responders, local high school marching bands and a showcase of vintage cars.

After the parade, there will be a ceremony held outside Toms River's Town Hall at 33 Washington St. The post-parade ceremony will feature speakers and honored guests, a rifle salute, and the placing of the wreath on the Veteran's monument.

Barnegat

The American Legion's ceremony is at 11 a.m. at the Fred Watts Gazebo Park, followed by a lunch for veterans.

Beach Haven

LBI veterans are celebrated at Beach Haven's Veterans Park at 12 p.m.

Berkeley

Brick

The ceremony is set for 11 a.m. at the municipal complex on Chambers Bridge Road.

Lacey

The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Bicentennial Park (adjacent to the municipal building and police department).

Little Egg Harbor

Services begin at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park.

Manchester

Ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the Municipal Complex.

New Egypt

Services begin at 10 a.m. at Sgt. David Southard Plaza, Main Street.

Stafford

Ceremony begins at 9 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Courtyard on East Bay Avenue.

Waretown

Albert Music Hall is holding a Veterans Day Show with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the ceremony at 6 p.m., followed by a night of music. Admission is $6.
