Veterans Village Project Gets Update From Berkeley Officials

BERKELEY, NJ — Construction is fully underway at the Tunnels to Towers Foundation's upcoming Veterans Village in Bayville, according to township officials.

Mayor John Bacchione recently shared an update on the project, which has a tentative ribbon cutting set for Spring 2027.

Upon its completion, the housing project will feature 98 single-occupancy apartments and 24 standalone "comfort homes," exclusively for America's veterans.

The apartments are intended as transitional housing, while the small one-bedroom comfort homes are intended for older veterans to live out the rest of their days.

While there have been other of these villages opened in other states, this is the first one in New Jersey.

Bacchione shared photos displaying construction progress.

"As mayor, I am grateful for the opportunity to welcome an organization whose mission is centered on supporting our nation’s heroes, their families, and those who have made tremendous sacrifices for others," he said.

He said more progress would be shared.

"It is a privilege to partner with Tunnel to Towers, and we look forward to welcoming their dedicated team to Berkeley Township," he said.
